I have been involved in dogs since I can remember. I grew up in New York where my father was a New York City Police officer in the narcotic/K-9 division. We raised and trained Rottweilers for the police department many years ago. Feeding, obedience training and attack work was a daily routine growing up. On the opposite side of the spectrum, my family attended Westminster dog shows annually, growing up in New York certainly had its advantages! As a youngster watching adults in glamorous gowns showing impeccably groomed dogs made my heart skip a beat. I can honestly say Westminster Dog Show is where I got my “dog show bug”.

As an adult I pursued as many fields as I could that involved working with animals, especially dogs. I’ve worked as a veterinarian technician for a clinic that not only treated dogs, cats and reptiles but also our local zoo animals. I’ve been employed in the pet food industry and volunteered with our local police department’s K-9 unite for several years. Once I decided to get married and start a family I left the field I loved (due to the fact it also kept me out of the house all hours of the day and night) for the “Corporate World” where I worked for an international corporation’s legal department for over 20 years.  Now, I’m happily retired and a grandmother of six incredible grandchildren.

I believe my experience, and education has afforded me the luxury of being above average when it comes to canine health, nutrition, behavior and conformation. For more information regarding French Bulldog’s unique health needs can be found under the HEALTH tab of my web site.
