We are located in the heart of Pa.
We are a small and select breeder of quality French bulldogs.
We have grown into a show home and we are so excited to share this with our extended family’s.
We believe in health and well adjusted dogs.  Our goal is to raise quality
French bulldogs that are of exceptional health.
All of our Frenchies are of good standard and
we have been working toward show prospects.
We on occasions will place a pup as a pet.

Our dogs are raised in our home and have references upon request.

“NOTHING LESS THAN THE BEST”

I want to thank everyone who has stood beside me and believed in me.

Preservation Breeders and Exhibitors of French Bulldogs and Boston Terriers, in the Pittsburgh, Pa area. We are a short distance from the New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Ohio, West Virginia and Washington D.C. areas.  I am Gwenn . My daughter, Janee and my Mom,  are all involved in the sport of dogs. We have owned Boston Terriers since 1996 but Bostons have been in our family since the 1920’s when my great  grandmother raised them. Every generation since, Grandma Pearl, has owned at least  one boston. We believe in health testing our dogs to ensure that if/when our dogs are bred, the parents are free from common hereditary diseases.  These tests  include, but are not limited to CERF,  patella and BAER tested. We are currently in the process of DNA testing our dogs for the gene that carries the early onset Juvenile Cataract (DNA for JC) and a Few more tests for the frenchies. Our goal is to produce quality sound good tempered dogs that do well in the show ring.  Most of all, any Boston Terrier and French Bulldogs that we own/ breed are a  to be a well adjusted healthy family member. When we have pets available, they are placed on spay/neuter contracts and limited AKC registration.

From 2000 to 2003 I owned a cat and dog gift retail store called E. Claire and Company in West Des Moines, IA.  Customers were encouraged to bring their companion animals to the store.  We took hundreds of pictures over the 4 years we were in business.  A copy of the picture would be displayed in the store and the other sent to the owner with a handwritten note.  The picture on the left is one of my favorite Rottweilers, Ruby.  On the right is the first French Bulldog, Rocky, that I ever got the pleasure to personally meet prior to owning my own Frenchies.

From my early childhood, I knew that I was truly endeared to animals.  My intensity for caring for and loving animals grew from my early childhood days to my adulthood.  I have always felt a passion for caring for animals and protecting them.  Today that passion and intensity continues.  In 1988, my husband David and our two young children, Nick and Eric, acquired our first companion dog, a Miniature Schnauzer, Princess.  Unknowingly, we purchased Princess directly from a commercial kennel.  We were fortunate in that Princess was a healthy puppy.  Shortly after our exposure to this commercial kennel we became involved in the local animal shelter, the Animal Rescue League of Des Moines, Iowa.  During the next several years we rescued our second Miniature Schnauzer, Cassie Lou and a Boston Terrier, Mimi Roberta.  Soon to follow was our second Boston Terrier, Claire, who we adopted directly from the shelter.

Most “normal” people would think that 4 dogs would be enough, but in 2001 we were blessed to have the opportunity to purchase our first French Bulldog, Jack.  One of the requests from his breeder, Marilyn Burdick, Pudgybull, was that we “show” Jack in the conformation ring.   Although we had never had a show dog we were willing to try and such is the beginning of a wonderful story and journey.  Since Jack we have added other French Bulldogs to our family.  Each one has become a beloved member of our family.

We are the Brott Family; Karen and Ken, children Adam and Grace. We have been showing and breeding French Bulldogs in Ohio since 2005.

Our love for the French Bulldog started innocently. In fall of 2004, we visited a traveling exhibit about the Titanic. While there, we saw a short video about a young 6 year old girl who played with a brindle french bulldog on board the ship during its historic crossing. We were smitten!

We did our research, starting with books, then Internet and finally, by visiting breeders at local dog shows. Although initially searching for a companion, we ended up with a show prospect. That began our journey with this wonderful breed. We chose our name after “Chateau de Chambord”, the amazing hunting lodge of King Francois the First. Thus, our name merges two areas of French beauty. We don’t have a formal kennel; our dogs share our home with our family.
